Notice of Project Status – Upper Beaver Project

As required under Ontario regulation 35/24: Rehabilitation of Lands, this Notice is to inform the public, Indigenous communities and interested parties that Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is planning to bring the Upper Beaver Project site from the Advanced Exploration stage to a Production Phase in the first quarter of 2028, pending completion of the Federal Impact Assessment, other required authorizations, and internal approvals.

BACKGROUND

The Upper Beaver property is located approximately 19 kilometres east of Kirkland Lake in northeastern Ontario.

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited proposes to develop, operate and eventually decommission and close an underground and open pit gold and copper mine with associated stockpiles, onsite ore processing facilities and infrastructure known as the Upper Beaver Project. The proposed maximum ore production capacity of the mine is 15,000 tonnes per day, and the proposed maximum throughput of the mill is 9,000 tonnes per day.

Engagement and Consultation

A public Open House Event on the Upper Beaver Project is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 20 McPherson Street (Dobie Arena) in Dobie, ON, from 11AM to 4PM. Join us to learn more about the future production phase, closure plan, speak directly to experts regarding potential impacts and mitigation measures on topics such as water, air, noise, closure plan, and more.
