FEBRUARY 2024- NOTIFICATION OF SITE ACTIVITIES

Agnico Eagle Mines is pleased to provide an update on current activities at and surrounding the Upper Beaver Project site.

As a follow-up to our notification of site activities distributed in January 2024, Agnico Eagle would like to provide an update related to the work along Beaverhouse Road. This work is in preparation for the potential start up of the Advanced Exploration Project anticipated later this year, pending internal approval.

Vehicle pullovers are now complete at various locations along Beaverhouse Road. Vegetation brushing and tree cutting is ongoing. Mobilization of logging equipment to site is also anticipated by March 1st. Please note that all heavy equipment will be using Agnico Eagle’s private McBean Road entrance off Highway 66 to access the Beaverhouse Road and Upper Beaver site.

As part of Agnico Eagle’s commitment to safety, various measures have been initiated. An internal traffic control plan for brushing and logging is in place to ensure the safety of all road users and includes, but is not limited to, radio communication plan, clear signage and additional signage in active work areas, speed reduction, and mitigation measures. While we strive to maintain clear roadways, please note that some debris may be present in areas undergoing work. Rest assured that our dedicated crew is diligently working to swiftly remove any debris to minimize inconvenience while ensuring road safety.

In addition, there is currently a drill at site, near the proposed exploration shaft location, undertaking a grouting program. This program is ongoing and aims to seal the bedrock around the future exploration shaft to avoid water infiltration.

As a follow up to our October 2023 notice, Agnico Eagle began to pump storm water accumulated in the exploration shaft collar area with limited success. After consideration, and to improve effectiveness, the pumping will be augmented using Story Environmental’s approved mobile system.
