APRIL 2024- NOTIFICATION OF SITE ACTIVITIES

Agnico Eagle Mines is pleased to provide an update on current activities at and surrounding the Upper Beaver Project site.

As evidenced by our previous notifications and the recent March newsletter, activities at site are amping up significantly in preparation for advanced exploration. Our team is diligently working on preparation tasks to ensure a seamless transition once approval is received to move forward with the construction of the advanced exploration project.

To follow-up on information shared in previous communications:

• Drilling and grouting program to seal bedrock around future exploration shaft is now complete.
• Vegetation brushing and wood cutting at various locations is complete along Beaverhouse Road, the existing 44 kV powerline, and the new fiber optic line location as mentioned in the recent March newsletter. Delimbing is ongoing in preparation for hauling off site.
• Pumping of accumulated storm water in the exploration shaft area is complete but may resume if/when required.

Ongoing and expected activities include:
• Planning for geotechnical drilling to support site infrastructure and portal design has begun. Activities will include trail preparation expected to start early April.
• Earth works and mobilization of equipment has begun in preparation for the shaft pre-sinking.
• Office and dry area setup are in progress.
• Tree Hauling is planned to begin shortly.
• Maintenance work on the existing 44kV powerline and connecting power from Highway 66 to the Upper Beaver site, which include Hydro One installing new pole line from Highway 66 to railroad crossing on Dobie Road is expected to begin soon.
• Fiber optic installation from Upper Canada site to Upper Beaver site, including a new section of pole line at the Upper Canada site is expected to begin soon.
• Upgrading of McBean entrance off Highway 66, including culvert replacement and addition of asphalt is anticipated to begin around May.

These activities will increase traffic along Beaverhouse Road. To increase awareness and ensure safety of all users, internal traffic control plans and additional signage are in place. All heavy equipment will be using Agnico Eagle’s private McBean Road entrance off Highway 66 to access the Beaverhouse Road and Upper Beaver site.
